The demolition continues!

July 26, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Another group of buildings in downtown Lexington are about to bite the dust.  Earlier this week the Rite Aid building came down and today the Dame and the MadHatter were looking at becoming a pile of bricks.  Main Street will never be the same!

The Caros “Hard Hat” crew, Robin, Drew and Shawnee, have decided to make the best of it!

The “Crew” is inside and ready to cook for everyone, watchers and construction workers alike!  Now, we might not take off our hats but believe me we know what we’re doing and we can guarantee a great meal!

Hey, don’t forget that Drew takes off his construction/demoliton hat each Saturday to help his wife, Karin, out with their Herb’n Renewal booth set up inside Caros!  You can visit the Lexington Farmers’ Market, come into Caros (sit down and enjoy the cool air) and have a great breakfast or lunch and then shop at Herb’n Renewal.  We’ve got it all at Caros!!! :)

And, the downtown saga continues…but, we’re gonna stay right where we are!  Caros will be here to serve everyone during, before and after all of this change occurs! :)   Guess you might call us “Hard Headed” vs. “Hard Hatted!” lol

Looks like downtown is gonna change!

July 23, 2008 · 3 Comments

The latest attempt to halt the demolition of the Dame, Joe Rosenberg, Rite Aid, etc. block Between Vine and Main has been given the okay to go ahead.  That means that another building is about to be a pile of old bricks and loads of dust.

Ya know everyone has their opinion about the growth of downtown Lexington and that’s great…it’s what makes us a community that can fight and hug at the same time!  We all want what is best for the growth of downtown Lexington and although we differ on how it should be handled, we all have to come together if Lexington is going to continue to be a great town.

If you decide to come downtown and watch the latest building to come down why not stop at Caros and either drown your sorrows or jump for joy!  We know that there will be both groups around to watch what is happening.  Hopefully Caros can help in either mood.  Food is essential to keep up the strength to continue your “fight!”

So, having said all of that how about a Bo’Ski to give you the needed stamina to move on with your idea of the Lexington skyline.  Hey, you can even add some veggies with our onion rings! :)

We know, a blatant advertisment but what the heck, that’s what were here for!

Caros, The Best Little Joint Downtown, now has a link to our blog on their website! :)

You’ll be able to come here often and check to see what is happening in the Caros world.  Who knows, there just might be a special of the day!  Maybe someone is celebrating a birthday!  A customer could have shared some news with us!  A blog is a great way to stay connected with the folks at Caros.  We’re like a family and we want everyone to feel like part of us too!

The news for the day is the photo gallery has been updated and you can see pictures of not only some of our customers but also some of the items on our menu.  Just looking at the photos makes you want a Bo’Ski! lol  We’ll tempt you with a sneak peek.

Now, who can resist a hand partied burger with all of the toppings!  It’s a Caros original and a favorite among our customers.

If you’d like to see some other items just click on the Caros link and visit our photo gallery…move that mouse up to the right hand corner to go to the next photo.  We’re still working on a way to make it easier for you to navigate.

BTW, if you happen to stop by today you’ll find Drew manning the grill.  Robin and Drew have decided that it would be nice to have 2 days in a row off so that they can get some real life stuff at home done.  Yes, dust bunnies do appear when you work 6 days a week!  This Monday is Drew’s day to work alone…be gentle!  Robin did great last week, hope she enjoys her day off today. :)
