Looks like downtown is gonna change!

July 23, 2008 · 3 Comments

The latest attempt to halt the demolition of the Dame, Joe Rosenberg, Rite Aid, etc. block Between Vine and Main has been given the okay to go ahead.  That means that another building is about to be a pile of old bricks and loads of dust.

Ya know everyone has their opinion about the growth of downtown Lexington and that’s great…it’s what makes us a community that can fight and hug at the same time!  We all want what is best for the growth of downtown Lexington and although we differ on how it should be handled, we all have to come together if Lexington is going to continue to be a great town.

If you decide to come downtown and watch the latest building to come down why not stop at Caros and either drown your sorrows or jump for joy!  We know that there will be both groups around to watch what is happening.  Hopefully Caros can help in either mood.  Food is essential to keep up the strength to continue your “fight!”

So, having said all of that how about a Bo’Ski to give you the needed stamina to move on with your idea of the Lexington skyline.  Hey, you can even add some veggies with our onion rings! :)

We know, a blatant advertisment but what the heck, that’s what were here for!

Have fun looking at the new loading dock that will soon be sending lovely diesel fumes across the street to Caro’s!

The great thing is we are usually to busy to look out of the windows and as far as the fumes go, I’ll guess we’ll have to work on that.

I’ve been supporting the CentrePointe project. I’ve taken some heat from my fellow Liberals/Democrats. But the way I see it – that block was an eye sore (most other blocks would be worth preserving). Plus, in these tough times, putting some money in the hands of contractors is a great thing. The finished project will be a shot in the arm to the remaining businesses downtown… more workers, visitors, residents, etc.
