Ghosts and Goblins????

October 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Not at CAROS! The “Crew” is decked out in costumes but chances are you’ll have to really think in order to be scared! Seems like they wanted to make a “statement” about our current economy! EEK! This could be very interesting so don’t miss their day to get their point across. Geez, that sounds so political…it’s really just fun on a fun day…Halloween! :)

Shawnee, aka Ms. Stella will greet you with “tricks” and Robin, aka Bo’Ski will help you get through the situation and finally Drew, the Grill Man will let you know where it all ends! Got your curiosity tweaked? Sorry, you’ll have to visit CAROS today to find out what the heck the “Crew” is up to!

Their brains ran rampant on this October 31st!!!! The good news is they can still prepare the very best food downtown! :)

Pictures will be posted after today just in case you missed out on the fun!

And, don’t forget that Drew and Karin will have their wonderful Herb’n Renewal herb blends available inside CAROS on Saturday from 7am until 1pm

The Family That Eats Together…

October 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Is often quite an odd combination! lol

That would be Scrubs and Peebs with a “coonette!”

HALLOWEEN COSTUME UPDATE…

That garbage bag that “Bo’Ski” Robin was trying on yesterday appears to have been given an addition…a tail!  This is getting very interesting.  Stop by tomorrow to see what that old bag with a tail turns into!

“COONETTES!”

October 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Looks like the “coonettes” enjoy the “crack fries” too! Yup, we have raccoon babies that are addicted to our Caros Signature Fries! And, yes…that is the “Grill Man” Drew feeding them!!! Watch out for the glow coming off of his bald head, you could be blinded by it! Lol I don’t think the darlings care as long as they are getting something to eat. :) It appears that the “Crew” has more important things on their mind than trying to sit down and write a short bio. Guess that is a good thing…means they are concentrating of good food! Or, maybe it’s their Halloween costumes! Lol It seems like the “Crew” will be decked out on Friday in very “economical” costumes! That looks like “Bo’Ski” Robin in a garbage bag?????? What the heck is she thinking about? You’ll need to stop by on Friday and find out!

Still nothing from the “crew!”

October 27, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I think they all took Sunday as a day off!  It’s much deserved but that doesn’t help me help you to get to know them!   Whew, not sure that made much sense but I’m hoping you will all understand what I meant.  Maybe I can get at least one of the crew to take the time to sit down and give me a bio before tomorrow’s edition of the Caros blog!

Meanwhile, they have been working on a new and different sandwich…something everyone will enjoy!  I’m telling ya, this bunch really puts their heads and cooking talents together to come up with some very special “Features of the Day” for their customers.

Enjoy! :)

Well, Geeeeez!

October 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Seems like the “crew” was to busy to give me some bio information. :(   So, I guess you’ll have to  wait until next week to find out what the “crew” was up to before Caros  became their way of life!

Drew did report that customers enjoyed the photos of the “crack coons” and the rest of the tribe at the farm who enjoy the extras from Caros.  If you didn’t stop by yesterday, they are still hanging on the wall so make sure you take a peek.  Drew’s Boxer, Addie, seemed to be the crowd favorite.  But I think everyone just felt sorry for her because she is watching her waistline and therefore she doesn’t get the scraps…hence, the very sad look on her face!  Awwwww, poor Addie.

Hope you all have a great weekend but don’t forget to start it off with the soup of the day…Veggie’n Pork!  It’s homemade and delicious.

And, don’t forget that Drew and his wife, Karin, will have their Herb’n Renewal goodies available on Saturday inside Caros from 7am until 1pm.  We’ll also have chili, soup and cold sandwiches to offer.  And seen as how it is supposed to be colder, how about some hot chocolate to warm you up while you shop at the Lexington Farmers’ Market!

We’re “Crack’n” again!

October 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well, it seems like the raccoons have started something! The neighborhood is going to get very crowded if we continue to feed the critters those wonderful Caros “crack fries!” Check out the scene from Drew’s front window yesterday morning. Those deer will soon smell those fries and the “crack coons” will have to share. Lol It’s a good thing that the Caros Prime Rib Sandwich was such a hit because if there had been anything leftover from that he’d have a zoo in Garrard County! And, it’s a good thing that the “Boozer” doesn’t find its way to his farm…just imagine a bunch of loopy wildlife running around after eating the beer cheese that makes the “Boozer” so spectacular. That would be an EEK for sure!

Speaking of the “Boozer,” if you haven’t tried one yet you have no idea what you are missing out on. It’s the most unbelievable eating experience around. Just bite into that burger and feel the beer cheese ooze out from underneath the jack cheese..it a surprise in your mouth! Bet your drooling by now. :)

A little off of the subject but still on the subject of food…did that make any sense? Ever wonder what those folks that prepare your food at Caros did before Caros? Starting tomorrow, we’ll give you a bit of background and a peek into the lives of “Bo’Ski” Robin, “Grill Man” Drew and “Ms. Stella” who is really Shawnee. It’s sort of like a “get to know the folks who feed you” thingie.

Log on tomorrow to find out who will be first!

UGGGGH! Computers!

October 22, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ya can’t live with them and yet we can’t live without them these days! Lol

Sorry about not having our Daily Features posted yesterday. It seems like the telephone lines, way out in the country, sometimes get hit by falling branches. :( That means that the phone line for us folks that are using a dialup connection cannot log onto their computers! Such is the case with our “blog updater” Mrs. Drew. She had a panic attack when there appeared to be no way to let you all know what we would be cooking up for Tuesday…poor thing.

The good news is we are up and running again and Mrs. Drew is smiling from ear to ear! Another bit of good news that happened while the internet access was down…she baked cookies and even a new thing, brownies!!! :)

We’re so sorry that our newest feature didn’t get posted yesterday because it sure was a hit with our customers! It’s okay, not to panic…we have some of Caros Own Prime Rib left for today, so you can come in and enjoy this wonderful new sandwich. It really got praises from yesterday’s “eaters!”

And, after folks fell in love with our homemade “corn chips” that we served with our Chicken Enchilada Soup last week we’ve decided to try them again today with our Beef Enchilada Soup. They are addictive…sort of like our “crack fries!” Maybe we need to start bagging them up so that you can enjoy a tasty treat while sitting at your desk???? Ummmm, might be a thought!

BTW, did you know that the folks that tell us what we should eat suggest a good breakfast everyday? Robin “mans” the grill and whips up some of the very best omelets around! I can’t think of a better way to start a hard day at the desk!

You might notice a “missing person” today…Ms. Stella has some sick children so she will be sitting in the doctors office most of the day. Just hang in there while our “Grill Man” Drew learns how to use the cash register! EEK!!!! Hey, it’s worth a trip to Caros just to see how he does!!! lol

Hate those 30 minute lunches?

October 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well, we have the perfect solution. 255-0039 is the answer to that problem! Just give us a call ahead of time and we’ll have your lunch order packed and ready to go when you walk in the door.

The crew at Caros prepares everything to order so calling ahead can make those “used to be an hour” lunch breaks much easier to enjoy. It doesn’t matter if you want just a bowl of wonderful chili or a Bo’Ski, we’ll have it hot and ready for you!

Remember, 255-0039 is the magic number!

Crack Coons!

October 17, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Caros is a burger joint! Most burger joints serve French fries to go along with that burger. Well, we’re no different. We have fries too! Only our fries have been given the name “crack fries” by our customers. Why “crack fries” you ask? Well, the answer is simple…you can’t get enough of them! They are seasoned to perfection with a blend of herbs and spices that our own “Grill Man” Drew created. If you haven’t tried them you don’t know what you are missing!

So, now you ask why “crack coons” in the title today? Aside from being “the” herb and spice guy, Drew is also a very big animal lover. He and his wife, Karin, feed everything that manages to stop by (and usually stay) at their farm in Garrard County. That includes raccoons! Caros cooks everything to order and sometimes we have some fries leftover…they normally go into the trash can. But, not anymore because it seems like Missy Coon and her hubby enjoy our “crack fries” as much as our two-legged customers! :)
