How to enjoy lunch in the bitter cold!

January 15, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Make a game out it! :)

Let each office worker put their name on a slip of paper and throw it in the office out box. Tell every participant to go to www.carosonupper.com and click on the “lunch menu”…don’t forget to scan over the $4.25, $5.25 and Sides’n Such! Write down what you would like to order for lunch and hang on to it! At 11:00 (or whenever you break for lunch) let the employee, with the longest time on the job, draw a name out of the box. That poor person has to brave the bitter cold and go pick up the order that you have called into CAROS at 255-0039!

Sorry for the guy or gal that has to endure the cold but you all might just offer to pay for their lunch in a trade for not having to venture out in the cold!

Sounds like everyone wins with this game! You all get a great meal and almost all of you get to stay warm…except for the poor soul who has to pick it up. Heck, y’all chip in and buy that person lunch for the day, that way they win too! :)

And you all thought cold weather was not a time to have fun! The “CAROS Crew” is ready to help make your day!

“The Joint” is heading to the inauguration!

Well, at least a little piece of us! :)

As most of you know, the “Grill Man” Drew and his wife Karin also own Herb’n Renewal. CAROS uses their seasoning blends in just about everything we prepare. Our “Best Chili Downtown” is seasoned with their Chili Season’n! And, it has been chosen to be included in the gift bags that attendees at the 2009 Bluegrass Ball receive! Here’s a little info about the ball… http://www.kentuckysociety.org/

“Grill Man” Drew leaves Caros at night and goes home and works his magic with herbs and spices and then Karin designs the labels and packages them. A whole bunch of Chili Season’n will be heading to Washington D.C. Today!

And you thought CAROS was only the “Best Little Joint Downtown!” Guess we’re mov’in on up!

Don’t go to work without it!

Breakfast that is!

I can remember my mom cooking hot oatmeal for me before I headed out to school on a cold winter morning, only to half fall asleep at my desk! Not sure my teachers appreciated that but those were the good old days! Now that I am a “big person” and have to go to the office, I darn sure don’t want to fall asleep in front of the boss! EEK!!! I have to bypass the hot oatmeal. Darn shame. But, we all still need something in the morning to give us that extra oomph! Lol

CAROS is the best place downtown to get “Oomphed!” Start your day out with a breakfast sandwich cooked to order. I’m gonna have mine with ham today instead of bacon or sausage. Yup, fried egg, cheese, ham all sandwiched between two slices of toasted whole wheat bread…I’ll even give it a squirt of ketchup! That’s a “big person” day starter! :)

Wanna get “Oomphed” with me? I’ll see ya at CAROS each weekday morning between 7 and 10:30!

Happy First Monday in 2009!

Whew, we made it through the holiday season! And, now it’s back to work time and getting away from those holiday leftovers! Don’t know about the rest of you but I’m tired of ham and turkey for awhile. It’s time for a good old fashioned hamburger or better yet a cheeseburger and some fries. Yes, that’s what I’m talking about…good old American food!

It’s funny how you wait all year for that turkey dinner on Thanksgiving, the ham dinner on Christmas Day and the pork to bring in the New Year. And then you quickly tire of it and can’t wait to sink your teeth into a wonderful, juicy burger and dip your fries into ketchup! Now there’s something you don’t normally see around the holidays…ketchup. Yup, it’s time to get back to normal and enjoy the usual food instead of the holiday fare. I believe I’ll have a big old burger today just for the great feeling that it gives me. :)

Please do not bother me while I enjoy a CAROS “Bo’Ski” and some crispy onion rings.   And, yes that would be  me drooling! lolcaros-bo-ski-fries
