And, We’re Off…

Sometimes the odds really do make success a longshot. Caros- The Best Little Joint Downtown, will be closing its doors on Friday November 13th after 3 years of “downtown revitalization.” I don’t know how the handicappers called it, but small business downtown looks sorely like the old gray nag! Starting with the unutilized block that was razed in the center of town, to a parking authority harassing employers, employees and clientele, to a dwindling daytime population due to layoffs and closings, and on to the city leaders bright ideas and so called plan…The Limestone Streetscape Project…Caros has had enough! With credit markets locked tighter than the Mayor’s office door, and the prospect of a viable business plan in downtown obliterated, the loss of another small business downtown will likely be seen as “collateral damage” suffered for the good of the city. Perhaps it’s fitting that a company with enormous experience, willpower, and spirit be put out to pasture downtown.

“CENTRE POND” DUCKS HELP MDA!

Okay, you probably didn’t get a chance to see the “Centre Pond” ducks floating around, but that’s because Caros rescued them before they went down the storm drain!

 

So, what do we do with all of these poor ducks? Simple…we help MDA!

 

Please stop by and give a new home to one of the ducks and at the same time help a great cause.

 

The CentrePointe development has caused quite a stir in Lexington and we couldn’t think of a better way to add something positive to all of the “discussion!” We’ll personalize your “rescued” duck, we’ll even autograph them for you! All you have to do is donate to the MDA and you can take home a part of downtown Lexington that is sure to become a collector’s item!!! I mean, how many times do you see “ducks” in a “pond” that shouldn’t exist?

Late Nite Pub Crawling in Lexington!

It seems as though the nights have come alive in Lexington! Folks are “crawling” from one pub to another and enjoying themselves on the way.

How about some good “grub” while you venture to the next watering hole or even after your night is finished!

CAROS is now open each Friday and Saturday night from midnight until 3am, with window service only!

It’s a perfect way to end a night of fun on the town!

THE SIDEWALKS ARE OPEN!

Yes, as our Grill Man Drew puts it…you can now stroll around the “hole” to CAROS!

Granted, it might not be pretty but at least we have sidewalks around the future site of the Centre Pointe development! Can you feel the “Crew” jumping with joy? Believe us…we’re thrilled with this little bit of progress. Heck, you can even park on Upper St. right across from us again!

PARKING ON UPPER IS BACK!

Yup, the parking spaces formerly located across from Caros have magically appeared again! The demolition fence has been moved back in order to allow folks to park right across the street.

CAROS Spring Kick Off!

Spring is in the air and CAROS is gearing up for the warmer season!  The patio,  that we share with McCarthy’s Irish Pub, is now open for your dining enjoyment pleasure.  Call ahead and order a Grab’n Go meal, pay at our new second cash register (no wait!) and head out our back door to enjoy the spring weather!
